Requirements
?Minimum of Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related
field
?3-5 years experience testing software or hardware
?3-5 years experience in JAVA programming
?Experience testing distributed applications
?Experience with JAVA, J2EE App Server (Weblogic, Websphere or
JBOSS), J2EE technologies such as EJBs, JMS, JavaScript, HTML and
XML.
?Experience with Solaris, Linux and SQL performance monitoring and
tuning
?Must have excellent attention to detail and good problem-solving
skills
?Excellent written and verbal communication skills
?Minimum 3 years of experience with testing Web applications
WebLogic, WebSpehere, Apache, IIS, SSL, Java & JDBC
technologies
?Familiarity with RDBMS databases (preferably Oracle), Reporting
and data analysis
?Good understanding of network (WAN and LAN) routing, TCP, IP, DNS,
WINS, DHCP, and other related internet protocols
?Experience with server clustering and load balancing technologies
for high-availability.
?Good understanding of multi-tier and high-transaction web/internet
applications
?Experience with Enterprise Monitoring tools
?Team player
?Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
?Must have ability to deal with complex concepts and details
?Fast, self-starter with strong quantitative skills

Responsibilities
?Member of a team responsible for performance testing of Motive
Application(s) using Web/Java, Linux, Weblogic/Jboss and Oracle
database technologies
?Analyze requirement specifications, design documentation, and the
create the performance plan and schedule
?Design, develop, and execute test cases for use in performance
tests.
?Collect, log, and communicate status to all stakeholders
?Work with department managers and internal teams to analyze and
resolve problems associated with technical issues in the
performance environments
?Review product documentation for improvements/additions
?Provide mentoring and training to fellow team members
?Contribute to design enhancements of application architecture
?Propose methodologies and best practices for delivering
outstanding service
The Performance Engineer is part of Motive Performance Engineering
Competency Center (PECC) team, which is an integral part of
Motive?s R&D and is tasked with certifying Motive?s software
applications for Performance, Scale and Operational Robustness.
This person is responsible for reviewing requirement
specifications, understanding performance and operations critical
components and developing automated test cases for performance and
scalability testing. Also, he/she will perform the planning, setup,
deployment and on-going support of systems & applications needed
for these tests. Works with Developers, Product Line Managers,
Hosted Services Team, third-party vendors and other PECC team
members to monitor, create product issue tickets and escalate, as
needed, according to established procedures. Successful candidate
must have experience working in a high-tech organization with the
skills necessary to maintain agility and to make critical decisions
under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience
in creating and troubleshooting enterprise services that
necessitated the understanding of the complex interactions among
applications, databases, server operating systems, internet/network
protocols, and client configurations. A keen understanding of
performance bottlenecks with Java applications and database issues
surrounding such an environment is also required. A strong
problem-solving methodology and the ability to work with
individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external
vendors is required. The performance Engineer may interact with
PreSales teams to support demos and also with Client Project teams
to provide guidance on scalability for We are an equal employment
