Mechanical Engineer. At BAE Systems, we deliver a full range of

individual selected for this position will be a proven leader with
diverse technical capabilities and demonstrated "hands-on"
mechanical engineering expertise. This role supports new business
capture by defining mechanical concepts and architectures, under a
quick and agile process, to meet multiple customer requirements,
and proposal inputs (cost and technical justification). When not
supporting proposal activity, will lead mechanical engineering
teams in design, development, integration/test, and production of
complex and dynamic military systems as well as provide SME support
for design, integration, manufacturing and testing of hardware and
subsystems for Electronic Warfare products across the business. The
individual must be a self-starter with Agile hardware development
experience working with integrated military avionics/electronic
hardware and supporting test equipment. The selected candidate will
be expected to execute both individually and in small to large, yet
diverse, Agile hardware team environments throughout all phases of
the product life cycle. This includes concept development, detail
design, qualification, manufacturing transition, and production
support. The engineer will be responsible for developing innovative
and robust hardware solutions to meet demanding customer
requirements and will leverage their mechanical engineering
expertise to perform detailed design and analyses. Day to day,
activities may include generating 3D solid models, drawings, and
documentation utilizing GD&T principles; performing tolerance
analyses to assure fit & function; performing thermal,
structural/stress, and modal/vibration analyses; assessing designs
against environmental requirements; as well as generating
prototypes and conducting test and verification efforts. With a
product focus, the individual will actively partner with other
engineering disciplines and operations personnel to develop
solutions that adhere to DTUPC, DFT, and DFM requirements.
Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical
issues that are discovered during manufacture and test of
deliverable hardware. This may include evaluating and
troubleshooting mechanical faults and issues, assessing test
failures for root cause, identifying disposition/corrective
actions, as well as designing test equipment to ensure the
performance and integrity of manufactured products. The selected
mechanical engineer is expected to have applicable experience in
the following areas:Agile hardware development, risk-reduction
prototyping, and requirements-driven design and
verificationKnowledge of engineering development processes for
aero/defense industryThe candidate should possess an understanding
in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of
materials, materials selection, design for vibration environments
and the ability to apply those principles to unique mechanical
design challenges.Design, development, analysis and testing of
electromechanical architectures, hardware and systemsDemonstrated
experience in Product/Factory Support of DoD military
electronics/avionics equipmentState-of-the-art mechanical
engineering design/analysis and development toolsFamiliarity with
design, analysis and manufacturing standards associated with
complex multilayer rigid and rigid-flex CCAsStrong "hands-on"
laboratory experience with instrumentation, equipment, and
processesMIL specs & standards, industry standards including ASTM,
SAE, DOEngineering documentation and presentationsTechnical
leadership of mechanical / hardware teams in executing engineering
